Environmental housings from The Sexton Company are designed to protect your delicate telemetry equipment against most of the hazards of fieldwork. Built of durable acrylic plastic, with captive doors and self-aligning connectors, these housings fully offset the effects of rain, snow, mud, salt spray, sand, debris, and submersion throughout the life of your Telonics equipment.

Installation
The only preparation necessary to install your Telonics equipment into its environmental housing is to exchange the original Telonics aluminum knobs with the plated brass U-joint halves provided with the housing (Allen wrench included). This need only be done once, as the Telonics equipment can be used outside the housing using the U-joint halves as knobs.

To install the Telonics unit, slip it into the open top of the housing, close the top cover using the alignment provided by the self-contacting connectors, and latch the top. To remove the equipment from the housing, unlatch the top cover, lift the top cover straight up to disengage the connectors, and pull the equipment out of the housing.

Bump Cases
Bump cases are provided with each housing to protect the acrylic box from shock damage and from the greenhouse effect of a closed, clear box gaining heat in sunlight. They are made from light-colored 1/4 inch closed cell Neoprene® with Nylon® on both sides, and have an attached adjustable shoulder strap. All seams are double cemented and sewn for durability. The cases add about 1/2 inch to all housing dimensions and weigh about 1/2 pound.

Specifications
All housings are made from 1/4 inch [6mm] acrylic, buna-N O-ring seals, stainless steel spring latches, control shafts, and hardware. Connectors are plated brass. They are waterproof to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes. They feature captive access doors to prevent loss or misalignment. After initial installation of universal joints, insertion, removal, and operation of the equipment is done without tools. All external connectors (antenna, headphones, battery charger) are self-aligning and self-connecting. Each housing includes a spares kit with O-ring grease, spare O-rings, and appropriately sized Allen wrench(es).
